i.e., I'm assuming meaning "flooded".

They also said that the north end of the boardwalk was ripped up but the rest has survived okay so far.

on a high floor of their apartment building, too old to walk down stairs when the electricity inevitably knocks out the power. I'm pissed at them for being so damn stubborn. They had plenty of other places to go. They don't seem to understand how they are stressing out everyone who cares about them...

That is painful.

I am afraid to leave the house to see what my local ones look like.

I noticed the comments on some of those pics, with people begging for photos or reports from certain addresses. This is truly awful for so many.

It was a barrier island with a narrow road connecting it to the mainland. The town started to flood and we had to get out of there on this tiny strip of road being lapped at furiously by the ocean. It was truly terrifying and it wasn't even as bad as what is shown above. The scary thing is that it's going to get even worse than it is now.

Stay safe everyone!
