A new poll by a Democratic leaning group shows President Barack Obama up 47-43 over Republican Mitt Romney in North Carolina.
The survey was conducted by Grove Insight Oct. 23-24. It was commissioned by Project New America, a Colorado based group.
It is the third poll released this week that shows North Carolina is still up for grabs. A survey commissioned by the Civitas Institute found Romney leading Obama by 48-47 percent margin. A poll by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic leaning firm found the race in the state tied at 48.
The Grove Insight survey found that Obama's growing lead can be attributed to a shift to him by women voters.
The poll surveyed 500 likely voters using live interviewers and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent.

(119 posts)If this is serious it's great news, means we can still get NC. Bad news for Myth.

(1,301 posts)rasmussen...it certainly is polling on target in my opinion(in NC)..I think the
msm polling has not been correct about NC.We have same day registration/voting
and our President's ground game has been superb!

(22,380 posts)the lines in my neighborhood library were the size of what I am used to on Presidential election days. I was utterly amazed.
And looking at the make-up and conversation of the people, 2/3 for Obama is my personal guess.
I came home less worried, and encouraged.

(3,491 posts)activity in an overwhelming African-American neighborhood. Went to 85 houses and of the 38 who were home, 37 said they'd either already voted or were planning to vote early. One person stopped me and asked if he could still register and vote. I explained the one-stop registration and vote to him, showed him a location not far from his home and he thanked me several times.
BTW, the 47 homes where no one answered got a nice door tag from the Obama campaign and a Dem party voter guide. I gave each of the people I spoke to a voter guide and extras when there was more than one person voting. They were very appreciative of it.
