The only song that should EVER be sung during the seventh inning
stretch at a baseball game is "Take Me Out To The Ballgame."
That is all.

4. I can answer that, I think....
|
WAY tired of the jingoism/exceptionalism/etc. that came to the fore after 9/11...prior to that Take Me Out to the Ballgame was the song of choice, now it is God Bless America.
P.S. I vote for changing the militaristic Star-Spangled Banner to America the Beautiful for our national anthem--who is with me? |

5. As a Baltimore Orioles fan, no.
|
Nothing cooler than hearing Orioles fans shout "O!" when the song gets to, "Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave...."

religion and jingoism.

10. When I was a kid, they played "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" during the 7I.S.
|
The only people who do TMOTTB right are drunken Cubs fans (I'm a Brewers fan, but I miss Harry, and I miss Ron Santo)
The only acceptable 7 I.S. tunes in modern America should be: Roll Out the Barrel (see other post on this important subject) God Bless America (I went there, dammit!) -or- Gangham Style! |

11. Well, you've gotta be drunk to get through a

Cubs season most years. Sorry, Cubs fans.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd. Feed me some fat lies and ads that attack I don't care if I never get back. Let me root, root, root for the O-Man, If he don't win, it's a frame. For it's one, two, three strikes, Mitt's out At the old ball game. |
