HA! Linda McMahon is behind by 6% in CT Senate race (Quinnipiac) after spending $28 million

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 10:46 PM - Edit history (1)

of her own money, versus $8.7 million spent by Chris Murphy (the Democrat) that mostly came from campaign donations.

And she spent $50 million in her unsuccessful 2010 Senate bid. So in total, between the two races, she has spent $78 million and counting.

1. She is such a nasty woman. As a fellow Mets fan I am from NYC and see her ugly ads...

.... every other minute of tv I watch. They don't like her, and Obama will win in a landslide so he will carry Murphy.

4. Having had to sit through a few WWE "matches" a few years ago, with my then 10 year old son,

I have nothing but disdain for the entire WWE. I was so happy when my son outgrew that crap.

17. I've seen several ads from her on TBS..

during the playoffs and one just tonight on TNT. (I'm in Manhattan.)

Her ads don't even make much sense, for all the $$$ she's throwing into it! I'll be very glad when she loses.

2. I find it inspirational every time she FAILS to buy an election

it proves that having more money does NOT always guarantee a victory.

3. I am having so much fun watching these people throw away millions trying to buy elections.

Throwing all this money out there at least gets it into our economy instead of it being hoarded, as the wealthy tend to do. And they are losing badly to boot. Keep it up m/billionaires - if for nothing else than my amusement.

5. She really wants to buy this seat. Which pisses many of us off in Connecticut.

She has gone overboard with her ads. It is overkill. And she has come off as very smarmy and entitled. She really thought if threw enough ads on tv and in the mail that she could take this race. I think it backfired on her. Oversaturating the airwaves becomes annoying really fast.
And her comments on Social Security and rape have hurt her. If she wanted to be a moderate candidate she needed to talk the talk and was caught not doing that. CT elects moderate Repubs, not conservative ones.

10. For the past

For the past 2 months, I have been getting 3 or 4 huge full color ads of hers in the mail couple times a week. She has called my house non stop, even when I asked the guy who called last time to please take me off their list. Last night at 9:00Pm I got a robo call from her.

I've been hearing that if she does not win in November she is gonna try and run for Governor next. She is bored and has plenty of money. She will keep running for office until she eventually wins. She is not going anywhere anytime soon I'm afraid. Can't stand her. WIsh they could find some dirt on her that would kill any chance she has at running for office again.

Don't even get me started on that jerk of a husband of hers.

20. I hope she gives up. No one wants to look at her again...

even my repub neighbor who had her sign up on his lawn in her run against Dick blumenthal in 2010 hasn't put another one up this election.

18. She is doing what she did last time around.

Carpet bombing with ads. I think like last time, she is just annoying the shit out of people. If a person doesn't like you, saturating them with more ads isn't going to change that.

Chris Murphy did very well in the debates. She was just throwing out talking points.

Some footage of her at a Tea Party meeting advocating twilighting Social Security hurt her. She has also expressed being against employers being required to cover birth control and was for the Blunt amendment.

All she does with her ads is deny everything and say that Chris Murphy is the one lying, even though in his ads you always see references from newspapers, etc. She's got nothing.

She comes off as snarky, bitchy and entitled.

I am so looking forward to the election so I don't have to listen to her grating, annoying voice.

That way those below the rich will keep more of their money.
