Watching Maddow, wasn't aware of the extremes of the personhood amendment
Basically it would outlaw contraception. What would they do to women who miscarry? Would they have to then prove they miscarried?

3. Yes, they would investigate miscarriages.
|
I don't even want to imagine what that would be like on top of the trauma that you go through when you lose a baby you wanted. It's despicable.

4. This personhood bill has no basis in reality.
|
It's hysterical rants from the fetus-worshiping crowd.

7. The fact that they're pushing it so much
|
and talking about it so much and not getting that much push back on it is scary as hell--well, I guess we'll see how much push back on Nov. 6.

5. There is the problem. My daughter-in-law miscarried. It was something natural and she was
|
so upset. I wonder would they throw her in jail. Also it's in the republican platform. That is also what I have been saying for years that they want to take away contraceptions.

9. I've seen stories and read online
|
that a lot of women think it's all bluster... "that they'd never do that." They don't know how wrong they are. They'd do it in a heartbeat.

8. Glad to hear this is being covered. I don't think most people in our country
|
understand how extreme these "personhood" bills are. And they don't know that Paul Ryan and others have proposed this as national legislation.

I'm glad Rachel is covering it agasin, and I wish the general media would exsplain it too. I suspsect there are millions of voters who don't know about it's extent. I'm not even sure all the Pubs who back that amendment understand what it could do!

11. Yeah, M$NBC is all over it
|
but you're right, I'd like it to be on CBS, NBC & ABC Nightly news programs. I'd like to see local stations covering it. I'd like to see Planned Parenthood or NOW plastering posters and billboards all over the place. Women (and our sympathetic brothers) need to be informed about just how radical an agenda the right has now. I think for a lot of people who don't pay too much attention to politics, just how far right the right has gone.
