PSA: "Automated" Polls are a Problem

It is illegal to robocall cell phones.

Live pollsters can call cell phones. Machines can not. (They can and sometimes do, of course, but it is illegal.)

Automated polling has been becoming less reliable with each passing day for more than a decade.

I have no freaking idea how PPP does it (I like them, but they are robo), but in general, robo-polls have a huge built-in sampling defect.

Look at the methodology. If it says something like "telephone-automated polling random survey" it is probably not a good poll, and probably not good in the direction of skewing older.
