1. This is the same as Sanctorum, Romney, etc. And a striking number of others.

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 07:13 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) There is a point of logic that makes this seem like quite sane to believers, but without a shred of empathy for women who they do not know and will never know. If a woman wants to end the pregnancy, they call her mentally ill.
The issue is responsibility. Those who are pontificating, refuse to take any responsibility for forcing others to live lives they themselves would not submit to living. Even if they did, their right to order anything ends at their own bodies, not anyone else's. That disconnection is where the hypocrisy, oppression and insanity comes from. They have no right to order the destiny and personal lives of others. NONE. |

4. These matters, like same sex marriage, are none of most people's business.
|
The people that fall into this groups seeking to legislate what other people can do with their own bodies, because that is this is, have too much time on their hands.
They have no real issues to complain of or don't know what's going wrong in their own lives, so they seek to control people they never even met and never will over some abstract idea that doesn't affect them at all. They won't bear the cost of these laws, not financially, socially, physically or mentally. It's just cheap thrills from their sense of entitlement to rule others. And it's evil. |

5. gay marriage is similar to me: do I have the right to decide who can sit with you on your death bed?
|
I say that to my straight friends who are too religious to vote for gay marriage. And point out that my partner would not be allowed into my hospital room in many states because they don't accept our domestic partnership. and then i ask them, don't I have the right to sit with him on my deathbed? On your deathbed would it be right to ask, "Who do you want to sit with you in the end?" and then tell them, "No, sorry, I don't agree with that choice. Pick someone else."
