Obama's response to Trump's offer

Obama of my fantasy, would show his convictions, leadership and courage, take Trump up on his generous offer, (money for veterans), lay every document regarding his life...in a binder, and lay it on a table and say.... Then say:

"Does this finally prove I am American enough to serve as your President? What more proof could you possibly want?"

Shame the bastards in their filthy attempt to dehumanize and humiliate this President. I, as a human being, am totally offended by this obvious game.

THis is when the GOP has taken it over the line, this is the HAVE YOU NO SHAME moment that could happen....

1. Sorry, but I think you are wrong

The worst thing Obama could do is give in to bribery. He should SHAME trump into give the $5 million to a charity - since he brags about having the money - WITHOUT any stipulations. I don't believe a reputable charity that would accept this "blood" money anyway.

Can't win at that game, because they have no interest in the truth. Their only interest is to try to damage the president at any cost.

This could be an historic opportunity for Obama, to finally lay to rest the overt racism of these demands. "Here is everything, what more is required?" "Why is so much more is demanded of me, than any other candidate in American History?" The answers to these questions become obvious, the dog whistle becomes an Air Raid Siren.

Racist attitudes are not rooted in reason. They are based on beliefs that are improbable at best more often totally false. There is no way to talk people out of those beliefs because they serve a purpose. Often to scapegoat or reinforce some sense of superiority. In that paradigm there is no such thing as "proof." Only belief in belief.

Obama shouldn't have to prove ANYTHING more than those other Presidents had to. Your post assumes that there's something he can do or show Trump to convince he is worthy. NOTHING Obama does, and I do mean nothing will ever convince some of these people that he deserves his position.

There is never just one payment in a blackmail scheme. Obama showed his birth certificate (which looks exactly like my two kids' birth certs because they were born in Hawaii too) and it satisfied NO ONE who was demanding to see it. NO ONE.

That's point # 1.

Point #2 is this: THEY HAVE NO SHAME. Don't even bother trying to make them feel shame. My puppy has more sense of shame than they do.

You can ask the old question: "Do you have no sense of decency?" but really that question is only to show those who DO have a sense of decency that Trump, Gingrich, and the rest of the birthers have none at all.

On edit: Trump is below Obama in status, not the other way around (as in Trump's imagination) He was just fired from Trump Place - his namesake - and the board didn't even want him associated with them...I'm waiting for them to change the name.

reason I love DU. We can discuss these things. As stated in the OP, this is a fantasy...It sure has a great ending there in my dreams...Most of you who've responded are of course right. You can't convince people whose only purpose is to hate. But I can still dream.

Jesus could show up (not that the R's would ever believe it was the REAL Jesus) and vouch for the President's life/grades/birthplace/etc. and they would then demand on testimony from the Holy Ghost.

They are human black-holes. They suck everything in and nothing good ever comes out.

That's the way it works. They ask for something, he produced it, they say it isn't what they're looking for. There is no "long form" birth certificate. Mine looks just like his (but from another state.)
