Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

Wed Oct 24, 2012, 12:57 PM

Let us agree, please. No more Trump, Coulter..........

There is too much at stake, too much work to do to let these idiots
take any more of our time.

Trump, Coulter ... etc.

Yes, I agree that they need to be exposed, but here? It is just a waste of bandwidth for DU.
That is why FB was invented, Ok IMHO. Use it, not DU!!

They are irrelevant, a waste of time.

Let us just agree we will not click on the link, even if posted here!

No disrespect intended for posts before this, but........... C'mon, really?

We have too much to do that will matter in the short and long time!

For fun, humor, a silly jest, OK, post it in "humor".

I'm just sick and tired of these people taking up our precious time.

I am truly sorry if I have offended anyone.

Let us get back to some critical thinking. Let us win this for US and our country.
Our future is too much at stake to give these stupid people any more attention!!

2. I don't agree with supressing peoples choices. When these jerks are all over the media.

They have to be addressed. You have a choice to not click on a subject. That's why we have freedom.

5. That is exactly what I am agreeing to do

To -not- click on those posts..

I have a right to -not- click on what ever I choose to -not- click on and I can agree to do it with others who are choosing the same.

6. I choose to do what ever I like. I do not take pledges or

feel a need to agree.

3. Not to attack you but I really don't think that

group think is a good idea. We all have the ability to not read a post if we want.

4. No one makes you read posts about Trump, Coulter etc.

DU is most valuable when it is a wide open source of information not only about what our side is saying and doing, but also what is being said and done by the other side.

Do you think DU should shut down its other forums, like the lounge? What other categories of post (other than posts relating to the crap spewed by Trump, Coulter, etc) should be considered a waste of "bandwidth". (By the way, if its posted, how does clicking on it use more bandwidth).

If a post sinks, it sinks. If it doesn't sink, it doesn't sink.

9. If we were competing against critical thinkers,

I would agree.

But we are competing against Neanderthals that are influenced primarily by emotion.

The axiom of public speaking:

Know your audience.

Fox gets this and it is working.

We must laugh at Trump. We must speak in their language. We must play on their emotion, not their senses. If you have not already discovered, they have no sense. They despise science . They despise secularism.
They despise reason. They can call our President a "retard" with little consequence.

Know your audience.

10. Use the "Trash this Thread" button when you see a thread you don't like...

...that's a lot easier than telling people what they can or cannot say just because you don't want to see certain posts.
