Prez to Des Moines Register: "I want your endorsement . . . You’ll feel better when you give it."
After editor's blog, President Obama releases transcript of Register interview
{snip} THE PRESIDENT: ____ I got to tell you, I feel very strongly that I have a record that justifies a second term. But I guess, more importantly, what you also know is that I’m somebody who keeps my word, that I don’t read the polls, that I do what I think is right for the American people, even when it is profoundly unpopular politically. And I think that’s worth something. I think that’s the kind of leadership the people of Iowa want. Q: Very good. Q: Thank you so much, Mr. President, for your time. THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, guys. I appreciate you taking the time. I want your endorsement. Q: Thank you so much. THE PRESIDENT: You’ll feel better when you give it. (Laughter.) All right? Bye-bye. Q: Appreciate it. Q: Best of luck, Mr. President. full interview (one of Barack Obama's best) : http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20121024/NEWS09/121024003/President-releases-transcript-of-Register-interview?Frontpage

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 11:08 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Romneyites were salavating that there was some kind of bombshell statement in this interview because the President had asked for it to be 'off-the-record.' Turns out, it's a really good one that will now get more exposure than it would have without the republican muckraking.

10. Joe suggested that the President doing the interview off the record would cost him Iowa.

9. This may have been planned...

Sometimes I think they do this to make a stink...then more ppl will be exposed to the message and Q&A than would, if he just released it initially.
