A change to "I voted" after one has voted ... I was told, is a DU tradition. If you have already voted I am asking you to participate in this tradition and change your avatar. It would be nice to see all of those who have already voted. I know I could hardly wait and once I did it was an exceptionally empowering and freeing feeling, even though I have done it before. I feel my vote this time was more important somehow because so much is riding on this election like women's rights, the economy, education, wars and the Supreme Court's future for example. I shared the line with more than a few young people that were voting for the first time. When the young lady in front of me was told to wait because they could not find her registration my heart sank. Fifteen minutes and three poll workers later they figured out the problem and she voted. As good as I felt after I voted I can only imagine how she was feeling. Let's show our DU support and change that avatar, please. And please pass the word. Thank you, LMSP
Please also rec the post to keep it going. Thank you.

(34,179 posts)When I started posting here at DU I adapted the peace sign, as a show of opposition to the war, later wars, that we were involved in. I vowed to keep that avatar until we were at peace. I never thought that I would still be flying that avatar ten years and two presidents later. A sad statement, truly sad.
You'll just have to take my word for it that I will be voting on Nov. 6.

(8,492 posts)Do you have any idea how confused I've been the last few days because everyone is changing their damned avatar? It was bad enough when I had to transition over to DU3. I just cut off all my hair, too. Don't you think I've been through enough? I can't keep track of whom I'm responding to. You people are evil and are just trying to confuse me!!!
Uncle Teddy stays. I ain't changin' it fer nuttin'. But...I voted!!!!

(22,593 posts)And you bring up I good point. When do we change back? I wonder if that question is a Welcome and Help question or one for Meta D. Sometimes when there are so many choices it does get confusing. Wasn't it great to vote?
