My 82 year old mother watched the debate.........

she swears that Romney was wearing an earpiece or something that helped him to answer questions. What Mom noted was that on the split screen, Romney seemed to be staring at someone in the audience and noticed that he would nod his head (as in in agreement) and then look at the President.

I don't believe that he was wearing one, but I don't like to disagree with Mom. She's 82, lives with me, and still likes to cook dinner every night.

I don't know about the earpiece, but there's a very good chance Annie was giving him the "Buck up, little soldier" twitches in the audience.

She said "He isn't listening to Obama. He is listening to someone else telling him to go 'back on key' and 'stay on script'".

But for someone in the audience would involve someone talking ALL the time as Rmoney did. A blithering idiot in the audience would have been easier to see perhaps than the one on the stage.

the camera switched to show the moderator's face during the debate and the whole audience was very dark even the front rows.
