From Mediate: CNN Airs The Most Ridiculous Statement Iíve Ever Seen On Television

This was a show CNN did about Romney going to France during the Vietnam War and how horrific and difficult it was!

Snip>

Thatís right, in 1968, the year in which the highest number of American deaths in Vietnam were reported (16,592), France was a dangerous place to be for a 21-year-old American who was avoiding service in Vietnam. Aside from the constant danger of having oneís eye put out by an errant baguette, what hardships did Mitt Romney face while he was ďin country?Ē

Well, all those dying Americans were causing protests in France, and as a result, says fellow Romney missionary Mike Bush, ďThere was no train service, there were no buses, no newspapers. The electricity would go off from time-to-time.Ē

The electricity would go off from time-to-time? Mon Dieu. Think of the horrific flashbacks to rudely-interrupted Gilliganís Island reruns and spoiled escargot. But the horrors of Vietnam-era France didnít end there.

5. Not to mention that Mitt spent his time in a friggin' chateau castle!!

His most dangerous time was choosing the right wine to drink with his dinner.

6. Out in the jungle in Vietnam, Infantrymen constantly thanked our lucky stars...

We knew it could have been worse--we could have been in France.

8. Man, I would have traded my PBR on the Qua Viet for a bike-ride on the Seine in a heartbeat.

But I might have laid the bike down on the cobblestones and skinned an elbow.

Them Mormons was some edgy dudes.

14. So it was you and your kind hiding out in the jungles of Vietnam

to avoid going to France handing out mormon bibles door to door. You were slackers then. Now your just a 47%er not taking any responsibility for your life.

Particularly, the tunnel rat guys slithering head first with a service 45 into the underground tunnel system looking for the enemy and leaving his comrades above ground open to snipers from VC or NVN regulars.

And while you guys were complaining about Agent Orange and mosquitoes, poor Mitt went hours without electricity, and checks from Dad were late at the post office.

The Horror....the Horror.....the Horror.

7. why?

Why would they broadcast such preposterous nonsense that insults the intelligence, pride and dignity of any veteran and their close ones?

The coddling of the reich wing doesn't get more blatant than this. Reminds me of when they made a documentary lauding how "grass roots" the Koch's Tea Party were.

Most of those revolts were going on in Paris. How is this even comparable to the jungles of Vietnam?
