British wife of President Assad cheers him on as he makes rare public appearance in defiance of protestors
Syrian President Bashar Assad joined thousands of his supporters today in an extremely rare public appearance alongside his British-born wife.
The embattled leader told a pro-regime rally in the capital that the 'conspiracy' against his country will fail.
Wife Asma Assad, a graduate of King's College, London, and a former investment banker attended with their children Zein, nine and Karim, seven.

Bashar was stupid. He should have stayed in London as an eye doctor. He would have done well enough, and been happier, I think. He's a lousy dictator and has been from the start.
He's completely lost the bubble and turned into a monster ten times worse than his father, who was no saint on a good day, but who, in contrast, looks like frigging Ghandi compared to Junior, here.
