Chris Matthews must be hell to live with.

He gets so worked up and is so over the top. I wonder how he is able to shut it down enough to even fall asleep at night. I wonder if he just exhausts himself or if he wanders around the house in the middle of the night with his mind twirling around like a whirling dervish.

Four hours later you know every damn thing about the Teapot Dome scandal, told in high-pitched invective.

... who called the GOP "an asshole convention" just a while back. He has proven himself this year in spades as far as I am concerned. Just because he doesn't wave pom poms is no reason to diss him.

... in an angry way! SNL did a great job of lampooning him and he was good enough sport to have them on his show. I have Phillie roots, so I am inclined to stick up for him.

Usually, he makes sense. But in some cases he wants to play political campaign adviser and not just analyst. He thinks he's smart on one particular issue and refuses to see or even entertain any other point of view.

just isn't paying attention. The people that don't like him are in the wrong. Plus, you'd rather live with someone boring rather than passionate? Wow.

I get just as worked up as Chris! Must be a Phillie thing. Like when Flyer fans booed Sarah Palin when she threw the puck out at a game.

JFK-SFO.

He is a really cool guy. What you see on teevee is his teevee character (which I find alternately grating, funny, and wonkish). We actually discussed the difference between his regular persona and the one he projects on-screen.

But we had a heck of a time and got pretty whacked. I was the only person in 1st Class who recognized him. He was dressed like a tourist in a ballcap.

I think part of what he does is obviously a character. For many pundits, their real persona is not what we see on tv.
He is also a fellow diabetic and knows what it is to suffer a Lantus insulin shot daily. It sucks.
