It's sort of an insult to use a foreign pickup wannabe when an F-150 would do a better job. HopeHoops Oct 2012 #7

You certainly couldn't get it down any street in Harrisburg. California is a little different. Well, a lot different. I don't see chicks in butt-floss bikinis in Harrisburg.

with a freaking stock pickup truck due to weight requirements of a bridge! A regular, 1/2 ton pickup truck! That blows my mind.

that they pulled the shuttle across that bridge with a normal, non-modified half-ton truck. That's freaking incredible. It pulled like 300,000 lbs. - a truck with normally a towing capacity of 10,400 lbs.

Not only did it do it once, it did it twice for the test to make sure it could do it. Now mind you, it only went like 2 or 3 miles an hour, but can you imagine the torque on the drive train, and the strain to pull that from a dead stop?

It wasn't very far, but they had to do it because the bridge over the freeway couldn't support the normal transport. Of course, I'm pretty sure that truck won't be able to be driven normally every again, because it probably half burned up the two times it had to get started!

bird reduced to a museum piece.

But, her technological shelf-life had expired. May she live a peaceful, well-earned retirement.
