Glenn Beck's empty SUV crashes down NY hill

LODI, N.Y. -- Radio talk show host Glenn Beck's family had a close call when their sport utility vehicle rolled down a steep hill in New York's Finger Lakes region just after they had exited the SUV.

In an account of the mishap posted on Beck's website, TheBlaze.com, he says he was hugging his newly married daughter as his wife got their young son out of the vehicle. They had just arrived at the cottage rented for the daughter's wedding reception last weekend in Lodi, on Seneca Lake. Beck says the SUV slid down the hill and overturned, coming to rest near the shoreline.

Photos on the website show the SUV with broken windows and damage to its passenger side.

The Seneca County Sheriff's Office says the accident wasn't reported to police in the county.

The former Fox News host was at the door to his lakeside cottage when he heard his wife, Tania, scream.

"I see my wife dressed in her evening gown from the wedding, and she's holding on to the door handle of the car as the car is starting to slide down the hill, and I just said, 'Let it go honey,'" Beck said. "And the car rolled down the hill. And rolled. And flipped."

"I honestly said to the kids, 'Well let's go say our prayers and go to bed,'" Beck said. "It was just one of those days. I watched my car roll down the hill, literally roll. I just stood there. And I'm like, 'All right let's go to bed.'"

"This is like the end of 'Father of the Bride,'" he said. "Everything you've done. It's in God's hands now."

So brave, so godly, (sigh) his life is like a movie.

What a load of crap, the scream he heard was his own and then he passed out in his tux, taking up the whole bed. And in the morning, when the SUV was discovered, he didn't remember what happened, even when the kids tried to tell him.
