Jeffrey Sachs can bite me. Period.

During the Bush years he would sit with Scarborough and rationalize trickle-down economic policy with little regard for the great unwashed. Now he's on Bashir's program with his heart bleeding all over the place. I welcome the support if it is sincere but I would like to hear just one of these guys admit that he was wrong and what he had previously advocated was harmful to many.

He HAS basically said as much - check his book, "The Price of Civilization" - but he keeps backpedalling, then coming back...

I think he's a smart guy who's stuck in a position where he just can't make up his damn mind. He's got two great big ideas in his head, and they're just not at all compatible, and he's struggling to reconcile the irreconcilable.
