bait Lyin' Ryan in the process.
he should say that the national unemployment rate is down one-full percentage point in the last year. He should state that unemployment is down 2.5 points since the high of the recession and over 5 million jobs have been created under Obama.
Now, we know how the right wingers have been trying to say that the unemployment numbers were fixed and I wouldn't put it past Lyin' Ryan to try and spin it that way too:
Lyin Ryan: Unemployment is still unacceptably high, and frankly I have a hard time believing that just a month before the election that unemployment has suddenly take such a big drop. I know others feel this way too.
VP Biden: Mr. Ryan if you have an accusation to make regarding the labor department numbers I think you should make it right here and now, not tomorrow on the campaign trail before a partisan audience or by surrogates such as Donald Trump. So make your accusation right now and show us your proof. Put up or shut up!

(37,305 posts)There was a significant seasonal adjustment which was perfectly normal in procedure but it may have skewed things.
There is a possibility the number will jump up the Friday before the election. If Obama hangs it all on the U3 number, it may not turn out well.
People who understand what this number is will tell you the important thing is it tells us the trend. It is an imprecise number with a large margin of error.
