Live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. They called on my cell phone, don't know how they got my number. Asked if NBC could call and follow up. This is a first for me, never been polled before!

(384 posts)NBC and Marist work together in polling, for verification purposes, (most people have never heard of Marist, but have heard of NBC).
What did they ask? Where there more than 10 questions? Where you asked age, sex, race, and religion and family income?

(384 posts)I only trust polls done with less than 3% Margins of error, and live pollsters.
All others should be thrown out. There is no reasonable way to quality control someone pushing one for yes and two for no.

(7,968 posts)Seriously does it help pull the election in one direction or the other? I'm seriously curious. I guess some Poly. Science studies on it must have been done.

(45,558 posts)Of course they take them into consideration, but the polling they do is more extensive. They use these numbers to tweak their message...

(32 posts)How they got your number, you will never know exactly. But one thing for sure, they have a lot of ways to get it.
I get calls like that from other survey centers and they're frustrating. They never stop and they call me for just about anything. So what I did was contact my telephone company and block all their numbers. That kept them from calling me again.

(32 posts)And I suggest you report their number to www.callercenter.com and raise your concern. When people read your post, they'd know about the practice of the polling center and can block their number ahead.
