1. No comment, I guess, because what can you really say to that?

It is interesting though, how DU manages to generate hundreds of thousands of words about something trivial such as the debates, but a subject like this leaves us, well...speechless.

2. Would someone explain this to me like I'm a third grader?

I never followed wikileaks. When I tried to pay attention I got muddled. So let's pretend like I'm stupid -- okay, maybe we don't have to pretend --

What of substance did Bradley Manning expose? I know there were some diplomatic exchanges that our government found embarrassing, but beyond that, I'm ignorant.

Why do some consider him a hero?

Thank you in advance for your patient tutoring.

3. He exposed war crimes

including a video which depicts U.S. forces in an Apache helicopter killing 12 unarmed civilians, including two Reuters journalists, and wounding two children. People trying to rescue the wounded were also fired upon and killed. A U.S. tank drove over one body, cutting the man in half. War crimes under the Geneva Conventions.

Stuff that was being buried by classifying the evidence.

4. To answer your other question

IMO a hero is someone who puts their personal safety or comfort on the line for the greater good - to end injustice or to save other people.

6. The fact that our administration tortured Manning is

Either the most insane thing I've yet seen...or a sign of just how evil our system has gotten.

President Obama's willingness to bend over backwards to protect the Bush administration is just as head scratchingly insane.

Does no one respect the law anymore??
