.. friend of mine just called and was almost in a "IT'S A TRAP!" mode.
"Yeah, well remember there are still a lot of Republican appointees and probably employees in government... what if... the Thug's in the BLS skewed the numbers... then after a few days (close to elections) it comes out the numbers ARE BULLSHIT.. guess who gets blamed... IT'S A TRAP!"
I have the concession on tinfoil.. line forms on the left...

(37,305 posts)But it's not manipulated, just a smaller sample that leads to more volatile numbers so we could see reversion to the mean next month.
I think the 114,000 is from a smaller sample and will be quite a bit larger once it is studied and revised, meaning the unemployment rate is actually lower than the 7.8%, in my opinion.

(7,759 posts)One thing people should be rejoicing about instead of whining about is the boost in the morale of the working men and women in the country. Consumer confidence should increase and thereby increase jobs. However, the propensity of the RW in this country to phoo poo anything that smacks of anything good for this President will dampen any positive reaction to this news,
