Cheat sheet:

Where do most men keep their handkerchiefs, if they carry one? My husband has looked at that video over and over, and says that the right front pants pocket is an odd place to keep a handkerchief. He keeps his in his rear pocket, or in a front pocket in the suit jacket. If he removes his jacket, he moves the hanky to his rear pants pocket.

I dunno, guys? What do you say? Is this too trivial?

Rmoney is such a liar and cheater that we should keep the story alive in some form. It should be discussed and examined minutely.

where he might get sweaty, and he wouldn't want to dig through pockets during the debate, so my guess is he put it where he could quickly put it on his podium before the debate so he wouldn't forget it and then later either end up digging through his pockets or letting sweat drip down his face.

I really think it's just a handkerchief.

pointed out, silk has been used as a writing surface for centuries, because it accepts a very fine point writing instrument quite nicely.

I also keep remembering how ex-employees of Bain have described how the company outright encouraged the use of deceptive practices against the competition, with something more vocal than tacit support from Romney himself.

He must be exposed for the liar and cheat that he is . . .

And did you know that he eats human babies?

Handkerchief in jacket pocket. Someone that wears a suit as a normal course of business would not put it in their right front pocket, that's where you keep keys or change.

He only puts the handkerchief in a rear pants pocket when he is allowed to be informal and remove the jacket. I think this is second nature to men who wear suits.

Rmoney putting the "handkerchief" back into his front pocket, or any pocket. Why would he leave a possible $250.00 hankie so some low life can take his DNA. That hankie looked pretty stiff. Either it was filled with snot, or it was paper.

10. Different people would carry it in different pockets. My Paul kept his in his right front pocket.

I think it was a handkerchief, but it did look kind of starchy for just regular untreated cloth.

The key is in the last few fractions of a seconds of video & whether you think that looks as though he's unfolding whatever he put on the podium.

In view of the strict rules you would think he had better sense than to put anything on the podium... oh.. wait ...

And I agree that it looked too stiff to be a handkerchief. Could a "handkerchief" conceal some sort of wireless transmitter that could be used with a tiny in-ear receiver?

That is a very deliberate act. This was not a natural thing to do. Why would he be thinking about his hanky right after introductions? If he wanted to wipe his brow, THAT is when he'd think about it. Why would you get out your hanky in advance? That makes no sense at all. Like this is the most important thing happening at that moment?

I'm wearing a suit to an occasion such as a wedding or funeral. On those occasions I tuck a freshly pressed handkerchief in each side pocket of my jacket. I've done that on the rare times I've had to speak publicly too. It's something my dad and grandfathers taught me.
