Did Romney Cheat at the debates?

check out this thread.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=119479

It sure looks like it. Read down. There is more info than just the OP video.

Perhaps someone can shed some light for us.

3. good, I hope she covers it.

Even if to explain it away. I can deal with that if plausible and not by repiglicans. But if he did cheat, he sure needs to get called out on it.

2. I can't imagine what he could have taken out of his pocket and tossed on his podium

I'm not sure it's cheating and I couldn't tell if he actually consulted a cheat sheet. But that surreptitious move into his pocket at the start of the debate looks curious.

4. look further down. Watch him retrieve them after hiding them in

another folded paper. And the enlargement looks like it could be typed. The rules appear to not allow it.

5. Don't jump to conclusions. He used a hankerchief to wipe his face. Could have been that. nt

8. look at the videos.

It may have been wrapped in his hankie when he threw it up there but that is a piece of paper with words already on it, with fold lines on his podium. It is a paper that he picks up, after hiding it under the other one earlier, then folds it into the second one and fumbles with where to put it.

Look at the beginning and the ending clip.

7. I thought all candidates took notes.

Helps stay focused and answer the other guy's long-winded statements.

10. the paper that he would be allotted to take notes

would not be quad folded. Would not have lots of writing already on it. Would not need to be hidden. Plus watch him during the debates. He looked like he was reading when he looked down rather than writing.

15. Got it. He cheated. As always.

It's the only way repugs can win.

12. Someone needs to make a gif of the 'hide the notes panic' at the end

along with the paper drop at the beginning and then have that sucker go viral.

13. We need to find the 2012 rules - using the 2004 Rules - even the hanky is inadmisible!

We need to read the "Memorandum of Understanding" for 2012...

2004 - for the same Jim Lerher debate with bush/kerry

16. Does it say a hankie is inadmissible? Here's the PDF of 04 and it better be different this time

-because Obama would have violated a couple of those rules.
http://www.opendebates.org/news/documents/debateagreement.pdf

This weird one:

Neither film footage nor video footage nor any audio
excerpts
from the debates may be used publicly by
either candidate's campaign through any means,
including but not limited to, radio, television,
internet, or videotapes, whether broadcast or
distributed in any other manner.

This is a campaign ad using audio from the debate-
&feature=player_embedded

And the 04 rule about mentioning a member of the audience would have been violated. Technically. (Happy Anniversary First Couple!)

Might they have considered a hankie to be a "prop" or "other tangible thing"? I think it's pretty routine for them to have hankies, but placing them on the podium doesn't really seem customary, does it?

Some groups have been trying to get the 2012 rules released, but I can't find them so far. Here's a press release-
