Republicans Run Pirate Bay Skyscraper Ad Campaign

One organization currently using the web to attract voters to the Republican cause is the American Future Fund organization.

According to Open Secrets, the AFF is a conservative-leaning organization that primarily raises money in support of candidates who back “conservative principles that sustain free market ideals focused on bolstering America’s global competitiveness across the country.”

...

Despite the controversial nature of The Pirate Bay, there can be little doubt that AFF will reach millions of potential voters with their ad campaign, but whether this is what they intended remains to be seen. Last week the Canadian government were quick to disassociate themselves from a campaign they inadvertently ran on The Pirate Bay.

...

Due to the site’s reputation, advertising there comes cheaper than some people might think. And with the New York Times revealing in 2010 that AFF won 76 percent of their House and Senate races making it the most successful big-spending Republican-leaning group, it’s possible that getting the most bang for their bucks naturally involves torrents these days. TorrentFreak asked AFF if it does, and we’ll post an update once we’ve received a response.

1. WikiLeaks’ web host raided by Swedish police

Published: 02 October, 2012, 18:58

The Stockholm-based web host for WikiLeaks and The Pirate Bay has been raided by Swedish police. Four of the firm’s servers were seized, though it remains unclear exactly who was being targeted.

The Stockholm-based web host PeRiQuito AB, or PRQ, was targeted by police on Monday, the company’s owner Mikael Viborg told local media.

"PRQ.se, one of a number of ISPs used by WikiLeaks has been raided by Swedish police; 4 servers seized. Police still in office," WikiLeaks tweeted on Monday ...

2. Wikileaks tweet calls Gottfrid Svartholm Warg "Assange friend":

How Sweden & Cambodia conspired to extradite without process Assange friend Gottfrid Svartholm Warg | Asia Times
https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/246396869054455809

The link http://t.co/zKjZQbuA in the tweet redirects to an Asia Times article:

Cambodia helps squeeze WikiLeaks
By Justine Drennan

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Southeast_Asia/NI14Ae01.html

So the phrase "Assange friend" comes from Wikileaks, not from Asia Times

4. Assange has very close ties to Pirate Bay, so it's likely the Pirate Bay gang shares his libertarian

ideology. And since many Republicans similarly hold hardline libertarian views, it's really not surprising to see Republican ads appearing on the Pirate Bay website

6. I provided three links showing the close relation between Assange and Pirate Bay because

the OP concerns the curious posting of Republican ads on the Pirate Bay websit. People interested in politics will naturally wonder why the Republicans have chosen that site for advertising

My analysis is that Assange and the Pirate Bay gang are libertarian ideologues with anarchist tendencies. I have earlier noted that US libertarians systematically use Assange to attack Democrats

Ron Paul, Julian Assange, Glenn Greenwald and the Libertarians’ Electoral Strategy
http://www.democraticunderground.com/125179195

and in fact Assange has recently tied his fundraising to attacks on Obama

Julian Assange and Wikileaks Campaign Directly Against Obama!

The fact that Republicans are currently advertising with Pirate Bay, which has close ties to Obama, is further evidence in support of my analysis
