LOL. So Glad Obama Don't Listen To Handwringers on Du

It's like a broken record. Everything the man does. It's never enough. Everybody knows how to do it better.

All the man does is win.

4. I understand why, though

It's not Obama per say, but the fact that there is so much riding on this election. Rmoney is the most noxious and all around worst candidate I've ever seen in my lifetime. He and Ryan would be horrific for this country - and we thought Bush was bad?

And then there's President Obama. He's shown that he is working hard and doing the best he can in spite of really shitty odds with the Republicans cockblocking him at every turn. I literally love this man. Don't always agree with him, and have felt some disappointment over the years, but I LOVE the guy because he is a good, honorable, decent human being with excellent leadership capabilities.

So that being said, I think people on DU want to see him kick the arrogant asshole's butt, and we all know he can. But the truth is, the Prez is much better at campaigning and Presidentin' than he is at debating - he's not one to fluff out his feathers just for show. He has some humility. On the other hand, Mitt can lie out his ass like the greasiest, sleeziest, slickest used car salesman. Most people have this man's number. His performance last night was a good thing because I'll bet even more Dems are going to make damn sure they get to the polls than before the debate, LOL.

5. I thought Obama did a reasonably good job. At least he was honest, calm and reasonable.

When I heard the Romney lies, I was under the impression that it was all over for him. Then after the debate ended, it seems that truth didn't matter at all, only who was the most overbearing.

7. He did an excellent job. His first and most important task

is to make the contrast clear, and he always does that.

Everybody knows Romney lied and is dishonest. You can't really say that about Obama. The contrast in character is very clear. The contrast in direction is very clear despite Romney's attempt to have everything both ways.

Obama always does things in a way that take a little time to sink in.

8. Yes, remember this time of year 2008

It was quite similar. President McCain and Vice President Palin would agree.

11. It happens every election and will continue until we can elect a true liberal.

President Obama is pretty moderate and has been patient with the republicans, who people here pretty much wanted to hang for treason after eight years of Bush (I am no exception). However, having worked in state government under two republican Governors and a republican state Congress, I've been forced to learn how to work with the enemy, even if they consistently prove that they can't play nice. So, I appreciate the President in ways some here have not yet been forced to through employment or otherwise.

I suspect, however, that even if we were to elect a Green Party President, some here would still grumble. Big Tent, diverse population, all that. Anyway, you might as well get used to it and try not to take it personally.

12. Obama would be more progressive if he could, but he's

smart enough to get what he can which is to pave the way.
