OK so because i think by now we have to have all seen this before I really hate to say that many of you are damn foolish. Yeah Obama took it on the chin, but I think he ment too. He allowed the lies to come out for Romney to say everything and pretend to understand the average guy. What Obama just did was to allow Mitt to punch himself out. The fact checkers are starting to see the BS. Obama, let the good stuff (Bain, 47% and jobs) go. What we have is the Republicans all patting themselves on the back. The media calling it a horse race again. Now and the next debate the Republicans will be looking for a repeat. HOWEVER, between now and then the fact checkers will have said it was all lies. The next debate will have a higher viewership and then Obama will go H.A.M ( for my hip-hop challenged friends that's Hard As a Mother F*cker). He will use attacks that are being brewed in the interwebs. Van Jones looks to be the only one who is started to see it. I've been watching CNN and Fox and I'm telling you this is a setup and I think Alex Rod just tipped his hand. I know many of you are in a panic but don't be next week Biden will mop the floor with skippy and a few days later Obama will come out swinging. The memory of the country is short and the ad flood in the swing states will keep the Debate form giving Romney to big a bump. I Keep saying it but it looks like I will need too say it again the Presidents team is good too good to lose to the clown car that is Romney.
P.S.
F*ck undecideds they are idiots.

(3,226 posts)the Obama ads will be up soon with Mitts lies exposed. Obama gave them no sound bites.
Obama plays the long game and does not get caught in the heat of the moment.

(3,226 posts)to apear angry so they could use the sound bit in a Ad with R. Wright making him look like a angry black man.
I mean if he went slap off right after the "bombshell" black guy video came out it would be in play all week.

(5,811 posts)and we were all laughing so hard at mittnocchio because he was either adopting PBO's policies while at the same time blaming PBO for all the hurting Americans which was created by his 1% buddies and continued by the GOP KKK House. But yeah, PBO is doing the ROPE A DOPE with mittnocchio because PBO always plays the long game. My favorite example of this is the incident with the somali pirates during his first year in office. The MSM was writing PBO's foreign policy obituary while he has his seal team 6 in the water for days waiting to take the shot. PBO plays hard and for keeps.

(10,611 posts)Their rapid response team has been too sharp.
They aren't just laying down.
It's disappointing that after all this time, so many are willing to throw in the towel so quickly.

(619 posts)You make great points about the response team, and Mitt did give us lots of lyin' sound bites. Can't wait for those to be debunked.

(25,415 posts)And Mitt will be slammed pretty hard in the coming days on his lies. He was more aggressive but he also handed the President more then an hours worth of lies to use in ads, in the next debates, on the campaign trail by the President and others.

(984 posts)As I watch the CNN guys all look like kids at Christmas drooling over the new toys ( or poll points) so that they can now call it a race, I know better. I know that next debate the gloves are off and PBO will be throwing hard jabs all day long.

(5,811 posts)mittnocchio has been memorizing his lines since August, not studying and discussing the intricacies and complexities of national policies but memorizing lines just like domestic terrorist sarah palin. Am I only one who thinks that is some serious crazy shit for someone to be running for president to have to MEMORIZE POLICY lines instead learning about and understanding policies for a policy debate?

(12,471 posts)I think that Obama gave Robme enough rope to hang himself. When the ads, and articles come out, people will see Mitt Zombie as a flip-flopper, and a liar.

(3,526 posts)...every single one of Mitt's lies in Obama campaign ads. The man lied just about every time he opened his mouth and the fact-checkers are working overtime.
On the other hand, how many times did the President say something that was not factual in nature?

..this crossed my mind a few times while watching. The Prez is brilliant and I have to say, this wouldn't surprise me.

Plus, no one wins the presidency with one debate. Right?

(24,407 posts)Another idea is that the Obama campaign was giving the media exactly what they wanted (or seemed to want): A "comeback" story for Romney. It was going to happen really no matter what so the Obama campaign thought they would just go with the flow and give Romney his opening knowing that now the narrative will be about Obama's "comeback". Plus it gave the Obama campaign an opportunity to figure out Mitt's strategy by just letting him filibuster for most of the debate. If the teabaggers were paying attention I doubt that they will be very happy with everything that Romney said either. Let them enjoy themselves tonight and let it go to their heads.

I respect him all the more for working so hard for us.
Thank you Mr President.

(1,936 posts)on the same issues next week. It was kind of a surprising performance to me. I think Obama is capable of much more like Eliot Spitzer said about prosecuting an argument and denying weasel words of Mitt. Obama is a lawyer, too.

(9,974 posts)POTUS took the best route for dealing with obnoxious bullies. Just let them talk. I've dealt with people like this in the workplace whenever I have ended up in our manager's office over a dispute with these kind of people. Hold my tongue no matter how outrageous they sound, don't interrupt them, let them ramble no matter how badly I want to interrupt them, let them grab more and more rope to hang by...
When the manager finally turns to me, I speak calmly, use a slow, calm, unflustered cadence. This annoys the bully even more and they try to interrupt me and shut me down. I then say calmly and pointedly "excuse me, I didn't interrupt YOU so I would appreciate and expect the same courtesy". They then are forced to stand there and steam as the manager says "yes, that is true" and they tell the bully to shut up, basically, as I continue to state my case.
As the bully starts to realize they are losing their case, they get more and more irrational and LOUDER and their panic starts to kick in.
If any onlooker was in the room they would probably have the same opinion of me that some have had here about POTUS tonight, "you let that person run all over you". No, no I didn't. I let them dig their own hole deeper and deeper.
PLEASE, DU'ers, let this PLAY OUT. POTUS did the right thing tonight.

(1,936 posts)I think Obama wanted the notorious flip-flopper/Etch-A-Sketch artist to commit to one course before the American people. Then he can prosecute him in the next encounter and on the campaign trail.

(1,451 posts)everyone. We know this President. He is calculating. We have watched him debate a whole room full of Republicans, answer questions, take messages from his assistants and be President at the same DAMN time. When?? During the Health Care Debates. If anyone remembers he mopped the floor with the whole room of them. Mitt exposed himself. He started getting rattled at a certain point. He got antsy. Go back and look at the debate. Then go and look at the Health care Debate. The President knows everything we know and then some.Remember he really can see the tax returns. He would never miss a Golden Opportunity to give it to Romney. But which Romney was going to show up? Everyone is going to talk about how good Mitt did, and the numbers for viewing will go up, and the Quarterback is TOAST!!!! Mitt will have to answer questions now that he has committed to it before 50 million viewers. And we all know his point of view is bound to change. Hello Landslide!!!!Our president lured the Fox out the hen house now lets watch him get caught in the trap. I think the President said something to the effect "you don't need more foxes to guard the chicken coop.
