Romney, of course, lied about everything

His entire body language screamed "lie".

Other than eye contact, which he tried hard to maintain… He's a supremely accomplished liar to keep it, his stiffness, fake smiling and exaggerated hand movement was extensive. Sure signs of a practiced liar.

Most people can detect when someone else is lying, not just by having a command of the facts over the liar, but by inherently and subconsciously detecting the signs given off by the liar. Mitt Romney's body language was off the charts.

The President, on the other hand, kept his cool in spite of Romney's effort to take him off of his game with his lies.

I disagree with any argument that the President should have gotten emotional and gone off on Romney. Bullshit. The President understands that the "Angry Black Man" meme is a real danger for him. As always, he defeated it. Looks at the entire argument of the Hannity and Carlson last night with throwing that shit out there. After the President's calm, cool and fact based performance tonight, the Fox Angry Black Man crowd will look like nut jobs by offering that depiction again.

Overall, The President looked presidential, he didn't sound like a whiner over GOP intransigence, he never looked cheap, petty and resentful. His style was that of a mature adult.

Romney, on the other hand, looked like a child with his hand stuck in the cookie jar.

I'm sitting here, hearing the praise of Romney's aggressiveness in one breath from the pundits, while specifying that practically everything he said was a lie in the other.

Bullshit! Are they saying that the people actually WANT to be lied to? In praise of lies.

I'm sorry, but that is not how you win a debate.

1. Agree.

My mom is in disbelief, and she's 80.

4. You don't win a debate by calling your opponent a "liar", even when they are

What do you want?

Are you saying that people want to be lied to because Romney was more aggressive in the debate?

5. I was listening on the radio driving home from work, and being objective, Romney just

sounded stronger and more confident. I know body language plays an important role, though, so I hope you're right.

7. Well, that's a problem

Because it says that anyone can get away with any kind of bullshit, as long as they sound stronger and more confident, in spite of the fact that you know that that person is telling lies.

Is that what most people really want, to be lied to?

11. Most people don't pay attention as closely as we do. They don't know they're being lied to.

8. The Obama MO has been to let others attack -sound reasonable, caring, likable

That was the same Obama as always on stage.

His job was to let Romney attack and either decrease his likability more or say enough to let Obama's team attack him later.
Once again lying did not "win" the convention coverage for the GOP. I fail to see how it is going to "win" the debate. The only way Romney wins is if Obama's people aren't out tomorrow covering the lies. In other words in 24hrs if you don't see or hear from them, then Romney won the debate. I'd be shocked because it is counter to Obama's whole campaign to date. They've labeled Ryan and Romney liars and it's stuck. So it shouldn't be hard to cut up and use the debate totally to play that angle. Will they... why wouldn't they.

10. Because, it's not the President's job to stop Mitt Romney from being a liar

In the long game, the President has Romney into saying the lies that everyone knows are lies. This debate is not just about tonight.

I don't see a reason to panic tonight.

The President has this under control, while Romney is doing everything I expected him to be.

15. People see these things, even when they're not paying direct attention to them

I'm sick of this surface bullshit spin from the pundits.
