My wise, more moderate husband said this:

Romney needed a home run tonight. He didn't get it. All anybody is going to remember is that he wants to kill Big Bird.

9. Yes, DH is still liberal, but in a very ex-Republican, low key kind of way.

Because he was raised by moderate Republicans, he is better at seeing what swing types are interested in. I was raised by rabid liberals, so I don't always have the best perspective on what people in the middle respond to.

7. Yeah I don't think it's going to budge voters much

Romney was a babbling maniac and Obama was not stellar but at least seemed sane...

A wash.

10. And Big Bird is trending on Twitter.

That was the only phase that seemed to catch on there.

11. Obama was far too affable for my liking

But I thought Obama nailed Romney on the most significant part of the debate where he pointed out that Romney still isn't providing details on how he will create jobs, how he will replace Obamacare, how he will reform the tax code and what loopholes he will eliminate, and what specific parts of Dodd Frank he will replace.

Romney clearly won on style. I'll bet if you read a transcript, you'll find Romney lost on substance.

19. Exactly right! This was Willard's strength, according to everyone. The economy. No home run.

Fact-checkers will evaluate all of his claims. Big Bird doesn't need to worry about Willard. Not unless he somehow buys PBS!
