Free hint, many of these atletes come from that environment, lower class to poor. And the leagues, yes, the leagues, give them no help in managing the sudden wealth... so things like saving for a rainy day and things like that is not part of what they do. So they leave sports and SPEND like drunken sailors on pay day... you can almost predict it.
It is rare the kid who grows up into fame and manages his money wisely after that.
And yes, I do blame the leagues for that. They encourage the fast lives and crazy spending these kids do.
