that most of the "undecideds" don't actually listen to what the candidates are saying, nor do they care much about "facts", "fact-checking", or Truth.
I was actually very proud of my former step-son who was non-political when we had the 2004 debates on the TV, and he suddenly yelled out "Bush just contradicted himself!" I simply replied "exactly."
The odd thing is that Bush was "judged" as winning that debate.
The voters surveyed obviously didn't know what we know - they obviously didn't listen to the "words" that were actually said.... they judged the candidates on some ethereal judgements that obviously had nothing to do with logic or facts or truth.
For example, Bush was thought to win the debates against Gore - not because Bush made better points but because Goer "rolled his eyes" and "sighed" too much when Bush was talking. Personally, I missed most of those because I was rolling my eyes. Bush showed what an idiot he was, yet he "won" the debates.
Luckily, O is calm and cool under any attack. Mitt will commit some kind of gaffe - it's his nature and inherent in his policies.
Our job is to reiterate Mitt's inherent gaffe, and nail him to it. Just like the 47% statement, just like his taxes.
