1. Cuz waiting tables is hard....on your back, your hips, your knees, and your feet. And also on your

bank account.

2. God Bless my Grandma

Everyday, getting up, putting on her white diner uniform, apron, and working the S&S Cafeteria in Miami for over 37 years.

Modest living her whole life.....but hard work.

It took her 5 years to make the money it requires for a couple of weeks to feed Ann's horse.

4. Not that Ann would ever understand. For her hard work is hosting lavish parties and

being the ultimate corporate wife. (Which if you hated that sort of thing would be hard work. But I think she kind of digs it.)

34. I used to wait tables

It's now one of the very few jobs I would never seriously consider doing. Nothing but respect for wait staff, man... One too many times, I came close to cramming my tray down some fuckwit's throat.

And this is why a 20% tip is MINIMUM.

35. LOL Yeah. It's a rough job. "My steak is underdone. Now it's overdone. You know what, I think I

would just rather have a lobster."

36. I went from waiting... to cooking

I love to cook. It's a joy for me. However, if you've noticed... every cook is some variety of insane. Know why they put us in hte back, behind a counter (sometimes several) and doors? To give the customers enough time to sprint after they send back that steak, asking for it to be cooked more.

Anyone who orders a well-done steak deserves to have it hammered through their fucking heart.

he has a real knack for it.

3. Hilary Rosen was right

everyone in the media owes Hilary Rosen an apology. She was right. This is the first time she has ever worked. All us kids whose parents worked tough jobs and odd hours are laughing at Ann who never worked a day in her life. Spoiled bitch.

6. Thank you.

Of course she was right. Re: Ann. There are hard working mothers and wives and there's Ann. I'm beginning to believe that she never even endured pregnancy. I mean in vitro and surrogacy is trending strong in that clan as it did with George W. (though I believe his excuse was that girls turned him off).

28. Better be able to back accusations like that up...

.... while I have nothing against surrogacy, aren't we, as Democrats, the ones who advocate for people to have whatever choices they wish to have about the use of their womb?

The woman has not done a hard thing in her life. I raise kids too, Ann. But have done it with a lot less money.

She doesn't know what "hard" is, let alone "hard work".

5. And obviously your Grandma raised a family at the same time

So not only was she a waitress, which I know from being one many years ago, is an incredibly hard job but she was also a mom. So what is Ann bragging about? That she does a third, if even that, of the work someone like your Grandma does and she's better for it? She's not even close to being as good as your Grandma. Ann has no idea what hard work is. Although she sure talks it up like she does.

She raised my Dad and my two Aunts on her own for years....

Unreal how hard she had it.

That's "HARD"!

Learning to pair wines with meals is an incredibly difficult skillset to acquire.

You just have utterly no idea. Mean person.

She'd come home at 1am and I help her count her tips.

The more I think about it---the more I think that Mitt and Ann really really really have no clue.

14. I remember when IRS came after her for $93

when she claimed me as a decuction, but I'm made more than half of her income working as a student and in the summer. When I see somebody like Mitt paying a ridiculous tax rate, my blood just boils, even after 40 years.

I'm sure she's still P.O.ed over being an anchor baby, and that's made her so pugnacious.

25. It's hard being nice to people

Whom you despise. It's hard having to conceal your contempt for those people with dirty fingernails, some of whom don't even speak English!

It's hard having to smile at people you'd rather spit on.

30. Sounds like my mother

She has been waitressing her whole adult life and my father is a fry cook. Talk about lower-middle class, that is where I came from. My parents didn't want me to work that hard for my living so they busted their butts (and mine) to push me hard in school. As a result, I've been given the opportunity to step up significantly in my life.

Talk about the American dream, I believe everyone wants their kids to do better in life than they did. Sometimes you need a little extra help to help your family get ahead. I know I received some and I'm all the better because of it. Thanks, mom, dad, and the government for getting me to where I am today.

37. My grandmother too. Small cafe owner who worked like a dog and raised 3 grandkids.

And eventually lost it all and ended up in public housing. Yeah, we got SS. Why? Because our mother was dead, that's why. It was a pittance. God knows what would have happened if we girls hadn't had military health benefits from a father who wasn't around so much but was in the service. You want hard? She died in her 60s, of smoker's cancer and just being broke down. She was poor, uneducated, and solid as a rock when we kids desperately needed her.

And Ann Romney can kiss my ass. Grandmother would have said "foot" but she was much more a lady than I am.
