Atlanta Mayor: Romney a ‘defective’ candidate

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed (D) said on Sunday’s Meet the Press that Mitt Romney’s comments about the 47 percent of Americans who pay no income tax show once again that the candidate is “defective,” comparing Romney to a race car driver who is constantly grinding along the track’s wall.

During the panel discussion, top Romney advisor Bay Buchanan said the remarks, which were secretly videotaped earlier this year and released last week by Mother Jones, were being mischaracterized. Not so, Reed said. Instead, he argued that the statement clearly showed Romney dissing half of the nation.

“I don’t even think that this is a question of mischaracterization,” he said. “All you have to do is listen to the whole piece. His comments were terrible. What he implied were that there 47 percent of the people are basically freeloaders.”

Reed then added that actions like that were not aberrations, but were rather the hallmark of the entire Romney campaign.

and he shut her up with style and grace. He told her, "I let you speak," when she tried to shout him down. He's my kind of Democrat, ONE WITH A SPINE. I'ts too bad we don't have a firebrand like him as Senate majority leader instead of that milquetoast Harry Reid. Harry always sez, "ma-aa-abey if we don't make any sudden moves and keep our hands in our pockets and say "pretty please" that gang of muggers in the grey suits won't knife us to death."

Republicans agree with him...there were no incensed folks at the $50,000 a plate dinner ...no need for dog whistles...not their usual stump speech. No, this is standard Republican ideology without "makeup or lipstick". Mitt just got punked by the digital world...able to hold a video for an hour on a cell phone.

I am sick of Mr. Romney.
Sick of hearing him.
Sick of hearing about him.
Sick of seeing him.

I am part of Mr. Romney's 53%.
I have worked hard all my life.

I have never received food stamps, but never begrudged helping those who needed them. I have never needed to use unemployment insurance, but never thought it "wrong" to use something that individuals pay into for just such emergencies. I have never used Medicare, but believe it is a good system I have paid for and that, with careful management, will be there when I need it. I have yet to take social security, but have paid into it my whole working life and expect and demand that it be there for me and for my children and grandchildren.

I am sick of Mr. Romney.
His vision of America is NOT mine.
And want him to go very far away very very soon.
