I drove to Florida for a friends memorial service. I made it kind of a Pilgramage, as he was very close to me. I left I-95 in Virginia, with the intention of doing the Blue Ridge parkway, but never made. Close, but I found it to be too grueling a drive by myself. Anyway, the western part of Virginia is covered with Romney signs, as well as George Allen and Cantor. Lots of Obama signs, too, btw.
As I got into NC, and eventually back to I-95 in SC, there were frequent "We Built This" signs on various business. Here in Florida, there are Romney signs all over, but again, plenty of Obama signs, too.
We simply don't see an appreciable number of Romney signs in New England. But down south, it is clearly a different story.

(4,252 posts)There are good people in Florida who really like him but there are people in Florida who really believed he was not born in the USA . I met a rich older woman living in a gated community last March in Florida who said he was not born in the USA and was Muslim. My mouth dropped when she said that....
My son lives in England now so I will be going East instead of South from now on. He says it is a different way of living there.
It will be interesting to compare my experiences in each country.
I have seen most of the USA...except for Alaska and Hawaii. Pretty country.

(41,976 posts)A bumper sticker; It said 'Mitt Romney', nothing else.
It's the only one I've seen.
You go a little rural though, I was in a town called Monroe, and there's a few signs. Not as many as you'd expect.

(9,791 posts)All I've been seeing are signs for local candidates.
I live in Greensboro, N.C. which is usually very heavily republican but I haven't seen any yard signs or bumper stickers around at all. I wasn't looking for stupid -we built this- signs though so I might have missed those. Of course I didn't see any Obama signs either anywhere. In 2008 there were McCain/Palin signs and stickers everywhere! It was so damn annoying, even my Middle School at the time had a huge McCain/Palin sign out front but nothing this election year so far which is just fine with me.

(3,557 posts)I see the occasional Obama bumper sticker around here. I saw my first anti-obama the other day. It said "Vote NO to Obama". It didn't even say who to vote for! There aren't any Romney stickers to be seen around here. But I think Obama is pulling 60% or more on the polls around here.
