4. Then racist preachers need to be educated too!

If they wish to make the claim that they are following the teachings of Jesus then they need reminded that ignoring racism in America is a key to entering a realm other than heaven.

I am not asking them to become Dr. Martin King, but reading I Have A Dream to their parishioners just once would be a step in the right direction. Asking those same parishioners to self examine would be another small step. Asking them to go out and research just one example of current racism in America yet another and best of all would be if that preacher could put this into a two week long learning experience, asking those parishioners to share those examples with each other on the second week. The learning experience for the preacher and his/her 'flock' could be tremendous. It would surely bring about spiritual growth....especially if some of them chose to see the need for change within themselves.

What I wish to see is cultural change. That change happens within that culture one person at a time. There is little doubt that this change away from racism has slowed if not reversed within our culture. Let us add to our 'to-do' list early on finding avenues to push back against the darkness that is racism. Our religious leaders both small and large can and should be enlisted to 'show us the way'.

7. Now isn't THAT sad? That a group of people can't think for themselves?

You see, it begins with US. If you wait for other Americans to care, if you wait for the gobmint to care, enjoy. But it ain't gonna happen. People don't care because you demand that they do.

9. Not sure how many voters see Romney that way.

But we do agree education is in a woeful state lately in America. Education is also important to diminishing racism in our culture. If the educators could add racism to their teachings it would decidedly add to the diminishment of racism our culture sorely needs right now!
I believe that We The People can add this to our agenda over the next four years. There is little doubt that a key tool to making this happen will be there to aid us should we just reach out and grab it: President Obama. Will it really be so much trouble for us to collectively ask him to aid us in this?

3. Well, give them a break.

They're also stupid, ill-informed, hateful, judgmental, mean, and greedy.

6. Yes we can WHAT?

Say things that sound good and do the opposite in private? (Deportations up 50% over Dubya, promised amnesty for ALL illegal aliens).

8. Romney and Ryan like what people historically expect Presidents to look like.

So, yes, black has something to to do with it.

But it hasn't helped that the right has run a virulent racist campaign. Had this really been about issues and left race out of it, it would have been a different campaign, but the modern Republican Party would not have been involved.

11. Three reasons:

IGNORANCE-low information voters (typically white voters, high school or less than high school educated)

GREED-corporate fat cats who hold the ownership of our lap dog media

RACISM-Obama doesn't look like me, therefore I'm not voting for him
