Team Obama: It’s Romney And Ryan Who Want To Redistribute Wealth

Team Obama: It’s Romney And Ryan Who Want To Redistribute Wealth

Ben LaBolt, press secretary for the Obama campaign, said Wednesday on MSNBC that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are the ones who want to redistribute wealth -- from middle- and lower-income Americans to the wealthy. LaBolt was responding to recent attacks from Romney and the RNC that Obama believes in redistributing wealth.

"Want to talk about redistribution, Gov. Romney and Rep. Ryan would redistribute wealth from middle-class families to the wealthiest Americans," LaBolt said. "The president has cut taxes for middle-class families by $3,600. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would raise taxes on them by $2,000 to pay for tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires."

It's not "redistribution" if it's moving wealth upwards. It's supporting and freeing the "job creators" and encouraging the rest of us to take " personal responsibility and care for our lives" (ie get off our lazy arses and agree to work 12 hour days for pennies.)

( do I need the sarcasm smilie? Well, just in case )

What is most disturbing part of this world view is that it sees being poor or even not rich as a moral failing. People are rich because they've lived right and that's god's blessing on them. People who are struggling, well it's their own fault. In a twisted way it's almost wrong to help them. About as far from the message of Christ as you can get, but there ya go.

We need to start calling them out...not always defending ourselves.

No tax returns, no debates.

... being re-distributed from the 99% to the 1% for a hundred years.
When wealth goes from the rest of us to the rich, it's called free market.
When wealth goes from the top down it's called re-distribution.
The democrats have allowed this narritive for decades and the republicrats are fine with it.
Like Devon Patrick said in the Democratic convention, it's time the left grows a backbone and stands up to that political vocabulary wizardry and makes the republicrats pay for what they have done to this country.

Our country did best - our economy did best when the marginal tax rate for the wealthy was 75%
We build roads, bridges and dams. We did research for the good of the people. We created medicines.
And the wealthy did just fine.

The republicrats want to roll the clock back... fine. Let's roll the tax code back as well.

What does it mean for Romney's campaign when some stay-at-home mom on her laptop (me) is two steps ahead of them?

It's like they're combing over their greatest hits from 2008 or 2010 desperate for something that will stick. How much longer until we hear references to a birth certificate or ACORN? 4-3-2...
