If Romney can stay within 5% of some of these borderline states like Ohio or Wisconsin or Pennsylvania then there is a chance it can be stolen

Primacy vs. recency problem. I'm unable to determine whether a positive response is meant to refer to the first phrase, or the one closest to the answers.

IMO he definitely still has a shot. Nobody is going to change their vote because of the 47% gaffe - People who find the statement offensive would never have voted for Romney anyway, and people who were planning to vote for him IMO are likely to agree with it.

what you are trying to convey, but think of it this way. If it was a gaffe, not an ignorant, arrogant belief he conveyed to his "base" in May 2012, then I would say "gaffe" also. But, and here's the important part, he said exactly what he intended to say.

Guys, that vid explained his whole strategy.

That's why he double down on the dumb things he says. He thinks that the only people that matter are his voting base and the two or three idiots he can con into his worldview, and the THOUSANDS that are being taken off the voter rolls.

He thinks he's got this in the bag, and the fact that he's still confident makes me very, very concerned.

There are plenty of people who hate Obama enough to vote for Romney. They may not like their guy, but he's white and not a muslin, and that's good enough for them.

then, no, they have no chance.

You have one person saying that 47%, almost half, the country will be voting for the President and some other moron saying that the 'Elite, smart people' will never vote for them.

Those two, alone, should combine to, at least 75% of the electorate that will never vote for the GOP.

By their own reasoning they don't have a prayer and should just quit now.

Weird WilLIARd is essentially toast but with about 44% of the vote automatically in the bag minus eating a baby on national TV (and probably wouldn't fall bellow 39% with even that) you can never say no chance. Add in the full array of shenanigans and all the money one can effectively spend and there is a shot of some kind.

Weird WilLIARd's big problem is he isn't done throwing himself anchors and anvils on a regular basis, it is in his nature and the circumstances don't really allow for him to go into hiding. He has already stacked too much weight to do more than hang in there but there is too much time to further damage himself.
