Discuss politics, issues, and current events. No posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports unless there is really big news. No conspiracy theories. No whining about DU.

to restrict discussion of only Israel/Palestine and no other region of the Earth.

What about Ireland/England, or Scotland/England or Bears/Packers for that matter?

And yet at DU2 there were almost 367,000 posts about the conflict before the move to DU3, only election reform and guns have more posts.

Why do you think so many DUers are concerned about this one conflict and not any others?

discussions about Israel/Palestine on DU became incendiary and vicious. It was easiest to sequester those discussions rather than continue the fighting.

Here we go!

Sorry but lifelong Packer fan here.

I really was at the IceBowl. Sat in the endzone. Wrong endzone so we couldn't tell what was happening. All we knew was that the game was over. Finally. First time I was ever that cold.

Seriously, what a cool game to attend.

Thursday night was fun too, but the temps were slightly higher.

Glad you got to go. And the weather seemed perfect.

My wife was visiting family in Illinois and watched the game with some Bears fans. She was wearing her Kuhn jersey.

Obama also had a recent converstion with Bibi, and after the election, Obama will be much more free to let Netanyahu who is the boss in US - Israeli reations.

give everyone else. Or stop sending money to anyone. The money we sent to Egypt was to support their military, who kept the people there crushed. They are still being relied on to make sure the Revolution doesn't end up becoming a real Democracy. So we'll probably keep sending them money The people have said they don't want it. But the Military will not refuse it as they want to maintain the enormous amount of power they still have there AND it is the Military who are our allies in Egypt, not the Liberal Revolutionaries.

instead of giving them free rein, maybe then Bibi Netanyahoo (intentional misspelling) would behave himself.

Budget in israel for defense is around 14 billion per year and about 2 billion of that comes from the US.

The dollar amounts are not in thousands as stated.
