Sit down for this one ....President Obama is a Muslim, but I'm going to vote for him over Romney....

Southern whites troubled by Romney's wealth, religion

(Reuters) - Sheryl Harris, a voluble 52-year-old with a Virginia drawl, voted twice for George W. Bush. Raised Baptist, she is convinced -- despite all evidence to the contrary -- that President Barack Obama, a practicing Christian, is Muslim.

So in this year's presidential election, will she support Mitt Romney? Not a chance.

"Romney's going to help the upper class," said Harris, who earns $28,000 a year as activities director of a Lynchburg senior center. "He doesn't know everyday people, except maybe the person who cleans his house."

She'll vote for Obama, she said: "At least he wasn't brought up filthy rich."

Many evangelicals who would normally vote Republican say they view Mormonism as a cult.

Several of those interviewed in Lynchburg were devotees of the TV series "Big Love" and "Sister Wives," about polygamous Mormon families. They were unaware that the Mormon Church long ago renounced polygamy.

"Mormons don't believe like we believe," said Dianna McCullough, a retired factory worker, as she tossed salad in a Tree of Life Ministries soup kitchen. "Like the wives -- Romney's probably got more than one."

that said, I don't think this woman really believes President Obama is a Muslim... I think she's talking the party line or if she REALLY does believe he's a Muslim, then he must be one of the good ones.

Look at the Doctrines and Covenants 132. If they have renounced it, why do they still publish it in their doctrines?
There are many beliefs that don't coincide with real Christian beliefs.
They believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers.
That man can become a god with his own planet.
God HIMSELF impregnated Mary.
Jesus was a polygamist with 3 wives.
Mormon men can have many wives and women can have more that one husband.
There is "blood atonement" for sins.

Do a little investigation on Mormonism. You'll find it enlightening.

When one spreads the truth about Mormonism and watch how fast the hate mail starts.

The Mormon church has a lot more history to hide than Mitt Rmoney.

There are other gods and they have their own planets. I mean, that's what mormons beleive. They die in the good graces of their cult and they get a planet of their own with many wives to populate it. I don't think their god is the Lord of the Universe, which Christians, Muslim and Jews believe.

relentlessly.

Rmoney's wealth, his tax avoidance, his religion, him and his sons' avoidance of military service, Ann's distorted version of a Stay-At-Home-Mom, Ann's version of "living poor" - all of it needs to be used because you just don't know what's going to resonate with low information voters.

When Jesse Jackson was running for the Democratic nomination. When you heard white racist blue-collar union types in places like Michigan and West Virginia and Pennsylvania saying things like (excuse the n-word, but it's contextually appropriate): "I'm voting for the nigger because he's the only one who gives a damn about the working man".

Economics and self-interest trump prejudice for a lot of people, it seems.

when I was growing up in the midwest (1970s) there was still some prejudice against Catholics by the main protestant denominations. I'm quite sure in some circles you may still see that - along with disrespect towards Jews, Muslims, and anyone else who they perceive as different from themselves.

Very sad.
