(44,972 posts)whatever she is doing to look and listen to him. When he was first elected she would always say, Look! Rockabama!! Now she has learned how to pronounce his name properly, and that made me sad.

(8,571 posts)I went and found the story to add to that. It's one of my favorites
Jacob spoke first.
I want to know if my hair is just like yours, he told Mr. Obama, so quietly that the president asked him to speak again.
Jacob did, and Mr. Obama replied, Why dont you touch it and see for yourself? He lowered his head, level with Jacob, who hesitated.
Touch it, dude! Mr. Obama said.
As Jacob patted the presidential crown, Mr. Souza [the White House photographer] snapped.
So, what do you think? Mr. Obama asked.
Yes, it does feel the same, Jacob said. A copy of the photo hangs in the Philadelphia familys living room with several others taken that day. Mr. Philadelphia, now in Afghanistan for the State Department, said: Its important for black children to see a black man as president. You can believe that any position is possible to achieve if you see a black person in it.

(15,408 posts)honestly, there is money to be made. How can you not smile when looking at these pics.
Can you think of one single image you remember of W with kids? I can't but I can think of several with Obama.
First time in my life I've wanted to be black (except for my long standing desire to come back as a great black blues singer) I wanna be Michelle and be married to Obama not because he's prez but because he loves kids.

(15,408 posts)and looking incredulous when the baby immediately stops crying. It may be my favorite Obama clip.

(3,055 posts)He's SO comfortable with kids, and kids know bullshit when they experience it. And he and Michelle are obviously so comfortable with each other. They have that "something" between them that allows them to goof on each other without one of them getting all bent out of shape.
Ever see the movie "Dave"? (If not, it's a must see!) Remember the opening scene where as soon as they're out of sight of the cameras and reporters, the president drops the dog's leash and he and the first lady go in different directions? Somehow I picture that's Mitt and Ann as soon as the cameras are turned off. He just strikes me as a person who is so impressed with his own station in life, that everyone else is just there for him to use as he wishes.

(3,596 posts)I suggest this is because Obama actually took care of his beautiful daughters from their earliest days. He was there when they cried, didn't sleep, etc.
Whereas, I can assume that RMoney went to bed in his cushy bed and the Nanny took care of the children. I doubt Ann actually got out of bed when one of the boys cried. I could be wrong but this is the way it worked with the English aristocracy and I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't what happened in RMoney's life.
Obama is natural and real. RMoney is stilted and contrived.
