Mitt Romney TRIES To BRIBE COLLEGE STUDENTS To Attend His Iowa RallyLast edited Fri Sep 7, 2012, 02:26 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
The Romney campaign was so desperate to get students to attend an on campus rally at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa that they were giving away a foam Mitt or ball to the first 1,000 attendees. Here is the press release announcing the event, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will hold a rally in Orange City Friday, Sept. 7, beginning at noon (note time change from the Romney campaign) in Northwestern College’s Bultman Center gym. Tickets are required and available free at the Northwestern College Rowenhorst Student Center front desk starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. Doors open for the Friday event at 10 a.m.; guests should enter through the Bultman Center’s main doors and allow enough time to pass through security before entering the arena. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a limited edition Mitt Romney foam mitt or baseball. http://www.nwciowa.edu/news/press/3309/presidential-candidate-to-visit-nwc Mitt Romney is so desperate to make it appear that young voters support him that he is literally doing stadium style giveaways in order to get people to attend. To give you an idea of how well his college student bribe went over, here is Romney working the rope line after the event.
Unless those senior citizens are freshmen, I would say that this was the typical Romney crowd. Mitt Romney is so unpopular that he has to try to bribe people to come see him speak. http://www.politicususa.com/mitt-romney-bribe-college-students-attend-iowa-rally.html

8. I guess Romney is micro-managing his campaign now.
|
He's the only one who could be that far out of touch. I know a lot of college students. Not a one would be motivated by a free toy suitable for 5 year olds. Proper college student motivation involves some combination of cash, alchohol, food, and cool music.

I work on a University campus and every fall, I see the new freshmen lining up to sign up for high interest credit cards just so they can get a "free" T-shirt and a water bottle.

18. I KNEW IT!! Took some tv captures using my phone and post themhere.
|
The audience was just too freaking weird. Took some time to get the pics off my phone, ul to tinypic but look
Notice the turned heads in the Mitt says CHEESE photo, that would be #1. It look like the older folks/parents were on one side and the kiddies on the other. Note the expressions on their faces (more interested in photographing the train wreck then actually meeting a celebrity), note the backs of heads, notice the lack of smiling faces, raised arms and otherwise compressed humanity (like one would see at an Obama event). |

|
Last edited Fri Sep 7, 2012, 03:29 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) hahaha. And even then, he couldn't get any takers. I thought the crowd looked different than most of the State U crowds. Wow.. he is in bad shape if 1) his college visit after the Dem convention is at a private christian college (which means they KNOW that a regular school wouldn't show up at all. 2) they have to promise foam balls to come. desperate much?

Orange City is an extremely conservative town. If he can't get a crowd there, he's in trouble.
