http://www.washingtonblade.com/2012/01/05/carney-mum-on-effort-to-repeal-n-h-marriage/White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was cautious on Thursday when asked about President Obamas position on legislative repeal of the same-sex marriage law in New Hampshire.
Under questioning from the Washington Blade on the expected vote to repeal the law, Carney said he hasnt spoken with Obama on the issue.
I honestly havent spoken to him about that state issue, so I would have to take the question and see if theres anything I can get back to you, Carney said.
Pressed further on whether Obamas position that states should decide the marriage issue themselves means that he would support the legislatures decision to undo the law, Carney declined to elaborate.

"and, we must be careful not to rile up the republicans about such things, and besides, the president has been clear on his views of marriage."

(28,581 posts)5. SO should we revoke all civil rights federal legislation and have it re-decided by the states?
Would Mr "leave it to the states" be all in favor of that?
Somehow I fucking doubt it.

I would LOVE to ask the WH if we should reverse all civil rights and let them be re-decided by the individual states.
It's so frustrating because if anyone should have a clue it should be the son of an interacial marriage.
