Florida pollster (Gravis) donated to Republicans

A new poll is out with Romney ahead of Obama by 1% in Florida among Likely voters. Nobody is God, therefore nobody knows whether any poll is right or wrong; but what we know is that weeding out pollsters with a dog in this fight would result in much higher accuracy, because (duh) they have a dog in this fight.

The polling firm is called Gravis Marketing.
The CEO of Gravis Marketing is Douglas Kaplan, of Oviedo, Florida. http://www.corporationwiki.com/Florida/Winter-Springs/gravis-marketing-inc/66034344.aspx

Douglas Kaplan of Oviedo, Florida, made the following political donations in the past:

$250 10/27/2010 MARCO RUBIO FOR US SENATE - Republican

DK ADVERTISING INC/EXECUTIVE $250 05/13/2010 KAREN DIEBEL FOR CONGRESS - Republican

KAPLAN, DOUGLAS OVIEDO, FL 32765 $300 08/21/2002 NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE CONTRIBUTIONS

2. Donations

We are a non-partisan company. I am an independent. I have donated to both parties and candidates I have worked with.

3. Really? Do tell!

We're all interested to hear of the Dems you've supported. The info on your Republican donations seems to be easier to come by.

Thanks.

Julie

6. A donation today

Makes you biased against one of the candidates. You can't make donations and say "Gee, I don't really support them."

Unless, of course, you are one of those dishonest outfits that wants to make sure this race appears as close as possible to generate business. Which makes you dishonest. Dishonest, or biased, which are you?

33. Both parties? Really? While I consider the efficacy of that remark pls hit the button and make

a donation to DU. We are really non partisan.

If you make a big contribution to DU we will tell all of our internet buddies how swell you are.

4. Douglas Kaplan also donated to Hilary Clinton.

I have donated $800 in my life time to Republican candidates. That does not make me a republican. Does donating to Hilary Clinton make me a Democrat. Not sure why you did not post that as well.

5. It makes you biased

Is what it makes you. If you are donating this round to the RNC, clearly, you want them to win. That makes you worthless as a poll, because you have skin in the game.

And by the way - donating to Hillary Clinton can mean you just plain dislike President Obama. It has nothing to do with your political leanings, per se, but again, illustrates your bias.

LOL. No. It makes you biased against Obama.

Clearly you have an agenda as does Rasmussen.

11. Donations

You got me. I don't like President Obama because I donated to Marco Rubio, Hillary Clinton and the RNC in 2002 Your headline said Florida Pollster donated to republicans, when I donated to republicans and democrats. Instead of correcting it, you decide I don't like President Obama.

28. Wow that is agressive sock puppet strategery

Okay not truly a sockpuppet but whomever you are you clearly are googling yourself repeatedly. You probably thinks this works.

Tip - you need to go out and find the Angry Bear blog because they have you figured out.

Happy Hunting!!!

BTW - do "gravis" and "marketing" really have anything to do with each other in this day and age? Still nice try.

15. Definitely Republican

This Republican pollster has at least 2 polls posted to realclearpolitics.com and are the only ones showing a positive tick for Romney, post RNC convention. If you open the media releases for these Republican polls, the releases, while holding back most of the question results, are eager to conclude that there was a post convention bump. The 'bump' is within the polls' own margin of error! A more experienced statistician would not put this out.

17. Clearly a Mickey Mouse organization

I'm not sure I've ever seen a pollster log on to a message board and brow beat members because they don't like their poll.

Regardless of whether or not there is a conservative lean (my bet: there is one) is very unprofessional.

20. Thx, URBScotty!

I like the site, and could not resist to register so's I could post. I am personally better off today than 4 years ago because when the Bush/Republican economy turned, my privately owned business's slow down prevented me from making timely and adequate payments on my business lines of credit with a big 5 bank. Upon default, the bank converted the credit lines to credit card terms, and was charging me over limit fees, late fees, interest on those fees, tripling payments that would not bring balances below the limits. Interest was 27%. I am scheduled to pay off the accounts next month, as business has improved that much in the last 4 years.

OBAMA'S CREDIT REFORM BILL SAVED ME FINANCIALLY - both business and personal!

Didn't lose the business. Didn't lose my home.

It would be awesome to have a central place where all people could post how they are personally better off today vs 4 years ago.
