I am so sick of my job as a tax accountant

I don't think I can stand another client bitch and moan about their taxes. One of these guys took home $4m last year and had to pay $890k in taxes and you would think it was the end of the fucking world. I would gladly change places with this guy and a lot of my other clients. They act like such martyrs and I want to scream and throw things.

And to make it even "better" one of the first thing my boss brings up in client meetings is the election and "Obamacare". Friday he was discussing the 2016 movie with one of my dentist clients and all I could do was sit there and doodle on my note pad.

Or is in any way advantaged by the system?

Of course, I know you have to hold it in there.

Just vent all you want here!

And I can say that at least he pays his employees very well. Some get a $50k Xmas bonus. I get a whopping $150. That's one hundred and fifty dollars.

But is too good to pay taxes. Typical, they are the absolute worse of them. As if what they did was pure gold and no one else could do it, and the hell with everyone else. I've met the type. Keep your cool because you need the work. BTW, I never ever got a bonus, but then I was union, and we got our checks and benefits and that was it.

3. I have *friends* like that
Mon Sep 3, 2012, 10:04 PM
Sep 2012

Well I was thinking they were my friends and then I've seen what they have become.

Bocu bucks they say they have, done well in their gold investments and their Apple stock and their Starbucks and all of their other crap.

They get robbed a few times a year. I guess their wealth is apparent.

The last time I heard from these people they were giving me advice about getting free transportation to help me.

I wrote back from Redneck Hell here advising this person that we don't have such "services" around here because the rich don't want to pay taxes to support such a *service*.

I never got a reply back after that, not that I care.

I am a retired bookkeeper myself and used to work for the rich living in their mansions and they like. I was their servant at work and they had a nanny at home that is the same nationality as myself. It was sickening.

I put my time in long enough to be able to get a retirement check out of these rich SOB's. I advise you to bite the bullet during these times and get out as soon as you can.

It isn't worth it to work/do something you despise. I know how you feel, believe me!

Hang in there ok?

We need more tax professionals like us on the Democratic side.

I don't know how many people have complained to me about Obama raising their taxes since he's been in office. They are flabbergasted when I explain to them that it just isn't so.

6. I have given up trying to educate any of my co-workers.

In an office of about 50 accountants and bookkeepers only 4 of us are Dems. And one of them is my brother who is the IT guy.

10. No need to educate them.

They already know taxes haven't gone up, and they already know that taxes are currently at historically low levels.

Accountants, and I am one, typically fail to see the big picture about anything. So all your co-workers really care about is whatever makes the boss and the clients happy. Accountants are notorious brown-nosers.

Personally, I couldn't stand it either.

So I'm self-employed. And now, if a client really gets on my nerves, I fire them.

I would fire most of my clients.

There are some that don't mind paying taxes. Their thought that owing taxes means that they made money, which is a good thing.

The money isn't as good being self-employed, but the freedom is wonderful.

8. Nobody disgusts me more than a tax whiner.
Mon Sep 3, 2012, 10:27 PM

I'm living off a portfolio and pay quarterlies and I do my own damned taxes on April Fool's Day, after the first amended 1099s come in. I want to see what's going on.

Taxes are the way we support all the things we take for granted, from a 911 number to call to the roads to the traffic lights on them that help assure we get to our destination in one piece to the water we drink and cook with every day. I would far rather pay taxes than be on the hook for some profit driven corporate monopoly any old day. I know what monopolies do when they realize they have a captive customer pool with no choice but to use what they produce.

Tax whiners need to be shipped off to Somalia until they get the fucking point.

The ones I mention are whiners no doubt.

They were bitching about having to pay property taxes, local taxes, etc.

They were talking about moving to some hell hole in Nevada or somewhere like that so as to not have to pay taxes.

I said after hearing the idea of moving to a hell hole in Nevada somewhere, "I think I'll pay my garbage bill and shut-up."

I guess that didn't go over so hot either; no reply to that one either.
