My wife and I are employed, our retirement schemes are intact, Our children are all working, and ObamaCare has helped all of us and our retired patients access healthcare.

The real question is - how much better could we be doing if the republican congress wasn't doing everything in its power to stop this recovery.

There are so many variables in the average person's life making things "seem" better or worse that have little or nothing to do with who is living in the White House, I don't know why it even gets asked except to remind people of the dumb old gipper.

I lost my job and am unable to find another one. There is too much unemployment in my area.

Four years ago I was employed. Two months later I lost my job and can't find a new one.

BUT

I am no longer embarrassed 24/7 by a president who was a total, absolute moron
and I am no longer terrified about what horrible thing that president would do next under the guidance of the most evil vice-president our nation has ever seen.

than embarrassment to me. He and Cheney are criminals who haven't been brought to justice yet. I'm not blaming Obama. I'm blaming the system he has had to maneuver through.

Sure, there are far too many people who are unemployed or underemployed, but who honestly believes things would be better if the opposing team got into office?

Would McCain have fought for extension of unemployment benefits?

Would McCain have fought for stimulus money to generate new jobs?

Would McCain have cared about anything but doubling down in Iraq and starting new ground wars in Egypt, Lybia, Syria, and Iran.

With all empathy to those who are out of work, let's keep in mind: the choice 4 years ago wasn't between Obama and economic Nirvana; it was a choice between Obama and something far worse.

Sadly, there are people laid off during the Recession and before whose jobs are most likely gone forever... When you wrap your head around how many people lost their jobs in manufacturing just during Bush's term, or those jobs that went to India (like tech support and call centers) it's easy to see why some people have not been able to find a new job.

That speaks more to the deregulatory environment, and the assholes like Koch Bros, and Romney/Bain, who made their massive wealth in the past 10 years by shipping jobs overseas. President Obama could only do so much.. he can't order Fig Newtons to be made in America again, or apple juice to not come from China. Or that the clothes everyone seems to buy in America, not be made in China. The Democrats are the ones pushing to remove tax cuts for the scums like Romney who profit from sending jobs overseas, but the republicans squash it every time..

Tho the Cryin/Lyin '12 Team wants you to blame the President for the lack of jobs, etc., it's the Congress' pro-corporation problem. Before they had control, they were doing filibusters to stop any type of meaningful JOB RETRAINING benefits, unemployment extensions, and cleaning up the laws that made Romney filthy rich. Then they had the majority to kill anything that benefits the middle/working class.

People are doing better.. and it's a miracle, considering how much fucking obstruction we have been dealing with. Amazes me that anyone would even consider voting for a Republican, if they're not multi-millionaires and such... after seeing how they betrayed the middle class over and over just to destroy the economy so they could get in power, and people like the Kochs and Romney can control even more wealth. It's just sickening.
