WAPO factchecker questions motives of Ryan's critics

Liberals are being too harsh on Paul Ryan because conventions are supposed to be platforms for exaggerations, and because Ryan's performance was not the worst ever, according to Glenn Kessler (a.k.a. the Washington Post factchecker). Link to his defense of Ryan here.

This summarizes a recent post by Glenn Kessler (aka the Washington Post fact-checker), which is being criticized today in a must-read critique by Bob Somerby entitled "Where have they taken the real Glenn Kessler!".

Excerpt (Somerby): On Friday morning, Kessler seemed soft. As of today, it seems fairly clear that the real Glenn Kessler has been deposed.

What have they done with the real Glenn Kessler? More significantly: Why the heck would the Washington Post choose to “check facts” this way?
