2. Bartcop is a fucking moron with regard to national security issues.

He still condones torture based on a silly "24" scenario. I wrote him once refuting his views based on my experience in SOCOM.

He not only didn't publish my response in his column, he didn't even answer me.

3. Bartcop and I broke over torture, too

I had been a contributor (both financially and content-wise), but I couldn't take his countenancing of torture. While I don't have military experience to add to my argument, it seems nearly self-evident to me that torture is highly counterproductive unless you're a sadistic creep. We went back and forth on the subject a few times, and I finally had to break it off.

It's too bad; I like Bartcop on any number of subjects, but running into the torture thing, often at totally unexpected times, just tore it for me.
