A wink to Neil Armstrong, a slight to President Obama.

Just as the family of Neil Armstrong requested, I thought of him as I gave a wink to the last blue moon until 2015. God Bless Neil, you will forever be the Man in the Moon!

Incredulously, Wikipedia has this to say: "Armstrong was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Richard Nixon along with Collins and Aldrin, the Congressional Space Medal of Honor by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, and the Congressional Gold Medal with his former crewmates in 2009."

WTF? Not awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by President Barack Obama but just awarded the medal.

If anyone knows how to edit Wikipedia "The President Of the United States Barack Obama" must be added to this page.

I am fairly, but not completely certain, that Congressional Gold Medals are awarded... DreamGypsy Aug 2012 #1

It's called the CONGRESSIONAL Gold Medal, because it's awarded by CONGRESS. scarletwoman Aug 2012 #3
But isn't it PRESENTED by the President? pinboy3niner Aug 2012 #4
No, it appears this was presented by Boehner tammywammy Aug 2012 #5
You're right. Armstrong's medal was presented by the Speaker of the House. pinboy3niner Aug 2012 #6

by the leaders of the House and Senate. Probably the President is in attendance, but does not make the presentation.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

and you need 10 to make changes to a semi-protected page and I'm not sure that Obama actually made that presentation in any case did he?

If it were awarded by the President, it would be called the PRESIDENTIAL Gold Medal.

And the Medal of Honor is a completely different thing altogether.

Maybe you ought to try to do a little googling before getting outraged about something you apparently know nothing about.

Just like the Congressional Medal of Honor is presented by the President?
