Ok, I have been mulling this ... speech... Mitt gave
First for the good things... yup, there were a few.
He did manage to connect with the story about dad. Yup, that was a heartfelt part of the speech... (and it is meant for the low info voter, truly)
He had the best performance in his life, that at least I have heard. This was, just like Ryan, a good delivery... not as good as Ryan... B+
Now that this is out of the way....
time to actually go into the nitty gritty.
1.- This convention has not been at all about what we intend to do, but what they other side has not done. Oh never mind the details. But if you are going to be quite honest about this, they did NOT offer a program of what they intend to do... (Ok there is the party platform, but for good reasons they are hiding that ugly thing in the shadows)
2.- THere were a few fibs... like well, Obama has not done a thing and Obamacare is quite horrible... (mitt it is based on Romneycare, just saying)
3.- Now for the truly scary part... who wants to give John Bolton an M-16? No, I am serious... we have betrayed Israel (major fib, even their defense minister calls this a fib), and are allowing Iran to develop Nuclear weapons, that is pure, unrelenting Neocon talk. So is the let's revive the good (err very cold, at times threatened to go hot) cold war.
So this is not good. Our neocons are not tired of getting this country into unnecessary wars.
Now as to Clint Eastwood and the empty chair... let me share with you a debate here in San Diego. Rachel has never seen that, she really needs to get out more... I have... this year in fact.

Enjoy the photo, the missing candidate, the incumbent, one Duncan Hunter. I doubt Eastwood got the idea from that photo, but stranger things have happened. And if he did... well I guess ... our local back country pols are good for ideas.
