Notes on Romney's Speech

1. On NASA, I found it quite telling that he didn't mention the gigantic public investment that was required to fund and develop our space program. He obviously was avoiding that at all costs. Of course, pretty much everyone acknowledges that it was a massive public success story (well, except for the GOP).

2. When he was talking about women's equality and the women leaders in the GOP, I was thinking to myself, "why doesn't he ask his own party to give women the right to choose then?" Later in his speech, he endorsed the (radical) pro-life platform of the GOP.

3. He reiterated his belief that Putin is one of the central foreign policy threats of our time. He has said this before (and rightly was ridiculed for it).

4. Uh, "heal the planet and stop the rise of the oceans". Mocking climate change, eh Mittens? An obvious play to the more ignorant members of the GOP.

5. Did he threaten Iran? Romney seems very hawkish and willing to go to war. Scary.

6. He reiterated the misleading Medicare talking point.

7. Finally, Romney said that Obama has been around the world "apologizing". A blatant, disgusting lie.
